This makes designing an underwater home for them a bit easier since the only essential room is a kitchen. All their other needs can be taken care of in the water. So mermaids need a way to prepare food on land. This… doesn’t really make a lot of sense considering the ocean is full of aquatic creatures and vegetation that mermaids could eat but this is The Sims 4 where logic doesn’t exist. They can do everything in the water except eat. Luckily, mermaids don’t really need a lot on land to be comfortable. This can make designing an underwater home tricky. We can’t build underground on waterfront lots and there are a lot of limitations about where and how pools can be placed underground.

If you want to check what mods the game recognizes that you’ve installed, select ‘ View Custom Content‘ once you’ve restarted to see what appears.
On the left side of the window that pops up, you’ll see an ‘ Other‘ tab.Once you’ve launched the game, select the ‘…’ icon from either the main menu or the top right of the screen when in-game.Mods won’t work straight off of the bat in The Sims unless you’ve signified to the game that you want them to appear: EA / Maxis Once your mods are downloaded, you’ll need to make show these two settings are enabled.
